The Senders Group

We serve as a bridge between missionaries, outreach partners, and the congregation by coordinating communication, support, and engagement with mission efforts locally, nationally, and globally. The Senders group helps ensure missionaries are supported before they go, while they are serving, and when they return.

Our Mission

Our Values

To support and strengthen God’s mission by building relationships, sharing stories of faith in action, equipping the congregation to participate, and faithfully praying for and supporting those serving in Christ’s name.

Why They Exist:

The Senders group exists to provide continuous support through communications, prayer and finances. for missionaries. As recognized in Serving as Senders, missionaries also need a church community that listens, learns, and celebrates what God is doing through their work. Senders help create that connection by fostering awareness, relationship, and shared mission within the congregation.

What It Looks Like:

  • The Senders group organizes a Monthly Senders Plan, featuring one “Moment for Mission” on Sundays throughout the year.

Each month highlights a mix of mission and outreach categories, including:​

 (e.g., Brandon and Jessica Craig;  John & Laurie Day), Compassion International, Intervarsity Campus ministries often featured on  Sunday’s throughout the year.

Community Outreach

 

including ministries like Good News Club, Sage Women’s Center, FCA and Friends.

Flex Season

allowing additional time when multiple mission partners or outreach efforts need to be highlighted, or for special “praise God” moments of mission celebration. Organize and operate the annual “Giving fair” to support mission requests and support through financial contributions. The Giving Fair includes Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.

How to Be a Missionary

introducing organizations and resources such as ECO Presbyterian Mission, YWAM, Perspectives, and learning how to be both a goer and a sender.


Church Outreach

 highlighting how First Pres directly ministers to the community through efforts such as, Deacon care baskets for elderly members, and supporting other church outreach such as VBS and Women’s Intergenerational activities and the Playpen ministry.

led either by the mission partner or a Senders group member
